SATELLITE broadband provider Avanti has positioned itself well for growth this year. It launched a new satellite last quarter that covers Europe and it is planning to launch a second in 2012, which will be able to cover middle eastern markets and parts of Africa. Spreadex offers Avanti on a rolling contract of 498.7p-507.8p.

Low and Bonar, the supplier of high performance materials such as plastics, tiles and building materials, recently announced a set of positive results. Its customer base is broad – ranging from civil engineering to transport and agriculture – which should protect earnings in the case of a contraction in growth. Spreadex offers a rolling price of 36.9p-39.35p.

Although 2009 was a tough year for Michael Page, the international recruitment company seems to be benefiting from the global pick-up in the jobs market. Although June’s second quarter results were optimistic, it may be difficult for them to sustain performance and we may see some profit taking. Cantor Index offers a quote 377.46p-379.24p.

There is a hefty economic calendar this week, which could see some volatility for the yen. The US, Europe, Japan and the UK all release data, which could move the yen due to its sensitivity to global growth and risk. Spread Co quotes dollar-yen at ¥85.87-¥85.90.
