THREE OTHER EAST END FAVOURITES

BOUNDARY
Conran’s smooth Shoreditch cellar has become one of East London’s favourite restaurants in which to see and be seen while eating classic French food with the odd twist, such as a kale served as a main-event dish. There’s an extensive seafood section and a daily rotisserie serving glistening, fresh slabs of meat. 3 Boundary St, E2 7DD. 020 7729 1051, www.theboundary.co.uk

BISTROTHEQUE
A favourite of Scarlett Johansson and Natalie Portman, there’s no doubting Bistroteque’s cool credentials. The food’s pretty good too, with bang-on-trend twists on British classics, such as potted trout and pan fried calves liver with butternut puree and fish and chips. Very enticing cocktails. 23-27 Wadeson Street, London, E2 9DR.  020 8983 7900, www.bistroteque.com

HAWKSMOOR
Equally known for its class-act cocktails as its super steak, this East End hipster restaurant is beloved by locals. The steak is serious business, sourced from the top breeds in the UK – Longhorn, Galloway, Beef Shorthorn, traditional Hereford and Lincoln Red. Everything else is good too. 157 Commercial Street E1 6BJ. 020 7247 7392 www.thehawksmoor.co.uk
