THREE OTHER HIGH-END ITALIANS

L’ANIMA
Classy, chic, and with excellent food, this is one of the best new openings in the City in the past year, and one of the few Square Mile restaurants that you might want to visit with friends, as well as contacts. 1 Snowden Street EC2A 2DQ, tel: 020 7422 7000, www.lanima.co.uk.

LOCANDA LOCATELLI
An oldie, but still a goodie. Run by Giorgio Locatelli, this West End restaurant contrives to combine a cool, laid-back atmosphere with a good old Italian-style family feel – and some for the best pasta in town. A class act. 8 Seymour Street W1H 7JZ, tel: 020 7935 9088, www.locandalocatelli.com.

ZAFFERANO
The daddy of them all, most of London’s best Italian chefs have worked at Knightsbridge's Zafferano at one time or another. Unlike some places, there’s still a rustic feel. For this sort of quality, the prices are good too. 15 Lowndes Street SW1X 9EY, tel: 020 7235 5800, www.zafferanorestaurant.com
