ROCK OUT AT ZERMATT
Those after late-season Alpine adventures – with a twist – should make for Zermatt, where Zermatt Unplugged, the resort’s annual music festival, will be rocking out in the shadow of the mighty Matterhorn. Past performers include Suzanne Vega, Alanis Morissette and Lionel Ritchie and this year Seal, David Gray and One Republic are confirmed. Stay at Chalet Zen and chalet staff and a personal concierge will take care of your every need, from a helicopter ride to the best off-piste skiing, to front-row tickets to Seal. 10-17 April 2011. Seven nights at Chalet Zen, Zermatt, (sleeps eight-10), for CHF3,475 (approx £2,320) per person. www.chalet-zen.com

HALKIDIKI’S AFFORDABLE PARADISE
The Sani Beach Resort in Halkidki, Greece (above), is to unveil the first phase of a €15m refurb that will see its Sani Beach Hotel transformed into a five-star retreat. The hotel will re-open for the summer season in April with 140 fully renovated Junior Suites, which start at a seriously reasonable €95 per night. The restaurants will all have new menus and there will be a golf cart on hand to whisk guests from the cocktail bar to the beach and home again. A vibrant range of activities for kids will ensure everyone is happy.
