Tube strike 2015: Talks to avert action between TfL and drivers’ unions fail
A Tube strike is certain to go ahead after crunch talks between TfL and drivers' unions failed this afternoon.
"It's clear that TfL are not serious about negotiations," a spokesperson for Aslef, the union which represents the majority of Tube drivers, told Morning Wire
An emphatic "no" was given when asked whether there was any chance of talks resuming later this evening or tomorrow in a bid to avert the action which will bring chaos to millions of Londoners.
A last minute pay deal offered by TfL was turned down by the unions representing drivers, who are striking over working late hours on the soon-to-be introduces night Tube.
TfL is advising that the Tube will be extremely busy from around 4pm tomorrow, and Tube trains will stop running from 6pm. No services will run on Thursday and there may be disruption on the Friday morning.
