Twitter adds editing and sharing platform SnappyTV to its flock

TWITTER has snapped up SnappyTV, the real-time video-sharing service, as it works to improve its services for broadcasters, businesses, and event producers to share high-quality videos on the service.

SnappyTV, which launched in 2010, was acquired for an undisclosed sum by Twitter.

“Our goal is to help publishers quickly share great moments from events so people can experience those moments as they happen,” Twitter said on the deal.

“We will be able to further our goal of empowering people to share the world’s best moments,” said SnappyTV’s founders Mike Folgner, Ryan Cunningham, Stephen Weibel on the deal.

SnappyTV’s clients include Fox, Nascar and the US Open, which use it to turn around specific video segments quickly for embedding in posts on Twitter.
