UK to offer all COP26 delegates vaccine ahead of conference

The EU has begun legal proceedings against Astrazeneca over its alleged failure to deliver on its Covid-19 vaccine supply agreements.

Downing Street today announced the UK will offer vaccines to delegations attending the COP26 summit hosted in Glasgow later this year.

In an effort to allow for the full participation of countries that will be most affected by climate change, accredited delegations who are unable to get vaccinations will be offered the jab.

While it is not confirmed how this will be achieved, the government has said: “We are exploring with the UN and partners how we can work together to deliver this offer.”

The United Nations Climate Change Conference, also known as COP26, is the largest environmental summit of its kind in the world. As the UK currently holds the presidency, the summit will take place in Glasgow in November this year, with delegates travelling from across the globe to meet in person.
