Vauxhall issues third recall over Zafira fire risk
Vauxhall has issued a recall for 235,000 Zafira people carriers for the third time over the risk that the cars could catch fire.
The latest recall, which follows two previous recalls in 2015 and 2016, affects cars built between 2005 and 2014 which do not have electronic climate control, Sky News reported.

The carmaker said a “small number of vehicles” had been found to have wiring that could overheat, melt and cause a fire.
Vauxhall group managing director Stephen Norman said: “Where the first two recalls have robustly fixed problems of fires, we’ve discovered one incident of a fire caused by overheating of a pin in a plug on a wire.
“The very moment this was brought to my attention we decided to go for a full recall.”

Customers with an affected car are able to have faulty parts fixed free of charge.
In 2017 the House of Commons transport select committee accused Vauxhall of showing a “reckless disregard for safety” over the fire risk and for being too slow to launch an investigation.
