SUBSTITUTE Carlos Vela scored a vital late equaliser against Stoke to lift West Brom out of the relegation zone after a 1-1 draw at Britannia Stadium.

The on-loan Arsenal striker struck late to deny Wolves last week and the Mexico international repeated the trick here, capitalising on a close offside call three minutes from time to fire home from close range.

Rory Delap had fired the home side into the lead eight minutes after the break. Albion’s point means West Ham are back in the bottom three.
