Watch this year’s full John Lewis Christmas advert, featuring Vaults and Buster the Boxer

Advent calendars may have been out since Easter and shops may have been putting baubles on display since September – but you know it's really Christmas when the John Lewis Christmas advert arrives.

This year's offering takes a funny, rather than schmaltzy, approach (cf. last year's sugary sweet Man on the Moon ad) – featuring a sad boxer dog who just wants to bounce.

As is traditional, the soundtrack is a cover – this time of Randy Crawford's classic One Day I'll Fly Away, by Vaults.

It features a little girl, Bridget, and a cast of wild animals including foxes, badgers, hedgehogs and squirrels – all of whom have names like Otto and Olivia, obvs.

Read our review of the ad here – or watch the full version below.
