Cadbury in £7.5m communication campaigns launch
The confectionery company has invested £7.5m in a campaign for its new Dairy Milk Ritz and Lu products. A 30-second TV ad, created by Fallon and directed by David Wilson, premiered on British TV on Saturday. Cadbury hopes this will help position the brand in the afternoon tea break market.

Gatwick invites agencies to pitch for new brief
The social and PR communications contract for London’s Gatwick airport will be placed under review. Agencies have been approached to pitch for the account. Publicis Chemistry, the airport’s incumbent agency, has said the review does not include advertising and does not affect them, Drum reported last week.

Food and drink marketing to kids under review
The Advertising Standards Authority is reviewing online food and drink marketing, especially measures around targeting children. The regulator will identify whether to tighten regulations, and is working with the Committee of Advertising Practice to commission a study into the effect of digital and online marketing of food and drink products on a younger audience.

WPP reports pre-tax profits up 19 per cent in 2013
Sir Martin Sorrell’s marketing services group – which includes JWT, Oglivy, Mindshare and MediaCom – saw pre-tax profits rise by 18.7 per cent in 2013, although revenues and margins were below expectations. The profit leap beat that of rivals Publicis (up 8.8 per cent to £900m) and Omicom (up 2.8 per cent to £612m).

Manchester United in pitch-side competition stunt
The football club has teamed up with Google to give fans the chance to appear pitch-side at Old Trafford on digital screens. Adam & Eve/DDB helped create the stunt. Essence was the media agency.

Ads of the week
■ Samsung has released a TV ad titled: “What’s your problem? Sport doesn’t care” to mark its sponsorship of the Winter Paralympic Games. The spot was created by 72andSunny.

■ In what has been called a first for British TV, Save the Children will air a TV ad which includes footage of a woman giving birth. JAA is the media agency behind the spot.
