Wemlbey to be at capacity for Euro final
WEMBLEY Stadium will be full to capacity for Saturday’s Champions League final between Barcelona and Manchester United despite the much-criticised record cost of tickets.
The most expensive corporate tickets were being sold at up to £4,680, while the cheapest tickets for United fans ranged from £80 to £300.
Tickets available on general sale started from £150, plus a £26 administration fee, and the cheapest package for one adult and one child was only available in category two seats, costing £338.
But despite the eye-watering cost of attending the most expensive club football match in history a Football Association spokesperson told Morning Wire: “Wembley is completely sold out”.
Uefa president, Michel Platini, last month apologised for the financial demands the governing body placed on fans wishing to attend Europe’s showpiece match, but his words have fallen on the deaf ears of Michael Brunskill of the Football Supporters’ Federation.
He said: “Uefa has to review the pricing structure of the Champions League from the top to the bottom for 2012.
“For almost £5,000 per person you would expect the finest prawn sandwiches known to man hand delivered to your seat by Michel Platini.”
