What you need to know before the open – 22/10

US markets remained almost unchanged from last week yesterday, with September employment data being released later today. The expectation is that this'll mean a fairly understated open for European markets.

UK MPC member Bean speech at 9.00am.
UK public sector net borrowing for September at 9.30am. Expected at £10.400bn, down from £11.452bn.
US nonfarm payrolls for September at 1.30pm. Expected at 180,000, up from 169,000.
US average hourly earnings for September at 1.30pm. Expected unchanged, up 0.2 per cent.
US unemployment rate for September at 1.30pm. Expected unchanged, up 7.3 per cent.
