Winkworth said it is confident that its results for the year as a whole will surpass market expectations.

Winkworth directors announce a dividend of 2.2p per share for its investors following an “exceptionally strong performance” at the start of the year.

The estate agent’s network sales revenues in the first half of 2021 exceeded those for the whole of 2020.

In addition to the special dividend for the second quarter, directors also promised to pay a dividend of 2.6p per share.

It brings the total dividends declared for the first half of 2021 to 8.3p per share, more than double the 3.08p in 2020.

Winkworth admitted that it expects sales activity to slow down in the second half of the year, as the stamp duty holiday comes to a close.

But the company still said it was confident that “its results for the year as a whole will exceed market expectations” due to revenue from rentals returning to pre-pandemic levels.
