FIFA AWAIT REPORT ON VILLA
FIFA say they are awaiting a referee’s report from Spain’s win over Honduras on Monday night before deciding whether or not to take any action against Spanish striker David Villa.

Villa netted twice in a 2-0 win but also struck Honduran defender Emilio Izaguirre in the face as they waited for a free-kick to be taken at the end of the first half.

A Fifa spokesman said: “We will wait for the referee’s report before making any decisions.”

DUTCH GIRLS ESCAPE MARKETING RAP
PROSCEUTORS have dropped charges against two Dutch women accused of an “ambush marketing” stunt during their side’s group match against Denmark.

The girls wore orange mini dresses association with a Dutch brewery, breaking strict Fifa marketing rules.

The case led to the sacking of ITV commentator Robbie Earle, who was accused of providing the girls with tickets.
