Yanis Varoufakis demolishes Jeroen Dijsselbloem and Angela Merkel in this awesome rap battle

Is it just us or has much of the western world has been developing a crush on rock-star economist-turned-Greek finance minister Yanis Varoufakis?

When he's not wrangling with Germany over his country's debt crisis, he's out watching cool plays or throwing in casual references to literary giants.

He's been brought in on the John Travolta Oscars meme. Thank you Photoshop.

And even when he is working, he puts all the other finance ministers to shame with what is fast becoming his iconic leather jacket.

But not everyone is trying to get the bromance blossoming. The Eurozone finance ministers so far appear impervious to his charms.

Still, if this video is anything to go by we reckon Varoufakis might still have the upper hand when it comes to negotiations, playing off Dutch finance minister Jeroen Dijsselbloem and German Chancellor Angela Merkel against Russian President Vladimir Putin in a spectacular rap battle*.

* This is exactly how we imagine the talks have been going.
