Yaya Toure says sorry: Manchester City midfielder apologises to Pep Guardiola for agent’s attack
Yaya Toure says he is ready to rekindle his Manchester City career and has apologised for his agent's outburst against manager Pep Guardiola.
The 33-year-old midfielder has backed down in a dispute with Guardiola, who said he would not consider the Ivorian unless he received an apology for derogatory comments made by agent Dimitri Seluk.
Seluk said Guardiola "is a good coach but his personality is s**t" after Toure was left out of City's Champions League squad.
Toure, who has made just one appearance in all competitions this season, has disavowed his agent's comments and is seeking to make amends with Guardiola.
"I wish to apologise – on behalf of myself and those who represent me – to the management team and all those working at the club for the misunderstandings from the past," says Toure.
"Those statements do not represent my views on the club or the people who work there. I have nothing but respect for Manchester City and only wish the best for the football club.
"I am immensely proud to have played a part in the club's history and want to help City succeed further. I live to play football and entertain the fans.
"On that note, I would like to thank all of the fans for their messages through this difficult period. This means a great deal to me and my family."
