Greek referendum: Finance minister Yanis Varoufakis hails “no” vote against austerity
Greek finance minister Yanis Varoufakis has hailed a seeming "no" vote against more austerity measures implying it ramps up pressure on the country's creditors to negotiate.
"As of tomorrow, with this brave "no" the Greek people handed us … we will extend a helping hand towards our lenders. We will call on each one of them to find common ground," Varoufakis said.
"As of tomorrow, Europe, whose heart is beating in Greece tonight, is starting to heal its wounds, our wounds. Today's No is a big Yes to democratic Europe."

Greece is currently veering towards a historic "no" vote against austerity measures such as VAT rises and pension cuts in exchange for unblocking aid.
It's been just over four hours since polls closed, and so far nearly 80 per cent of the vote has been counted, showing 61.58 per cent voted "no" and 38.43 per cent voted "yes".
