Lloyds Bank leads the London financial sector in British LGBT Awards
Bravo to bankers at Lloyds – the firm has been crowned the top employer for promoting diversity in this year's LGBT Awards.
Lloyds Banking Group, which has a professional LGBT Network of over 3000, was named LGBT Network Group of the Year. The bank saw off stiff competition from the likes of Tesco and PwC.
Dubbed Britain’s "Gay Oscars", the Royal Bank of Sctoland sponsored bash brought together top gay celebrities and corporate leaders at a glittering gathering at London’s Grand Connaught Rooms last week.

TV funny man Alan Carr, signers Boy George and Sam Smith and Olympic boxing hero Nicola Adams also attended the ceremony to collect awards, but it was London's banking and business sectors which came out on top after the judging panel including senior staff from RBS and shadow business secretary Angela Eagle shortlisted several financial firms earlier this year.
Supermarket giant Asda was named Employer of the Year, beating corporate heavyweights including Barclays, Goldman Sachs and Citi. Incoming PwC chair Kevin Ellis was also nominated for the prestigious Straight Ally of the Year gong.

Sarah Garrett, founder of the awards, said: “All of the nominees are winners really because they are doing great things to support the LGBT community and it is wonderful to shine a light on them for one special night every year."
