David Cameron and EasyJet boss Carolyn McCall to warn of Brexit’s impact on UK travel costs
Prime Minister David Cameron will today highlight the potential increase in travel costs if Britain were to leave the European Union.
The Prime Minister, who will be seen standing in front of a plane with EasyJet boss Carolyn McCall, is set to discuss the Treasury’s recent warning that leaving the EU would make Britain poorer by the equivalent of £4,300 per household by 2030 and every year thereafter.
The report also warned that a vote to leave would push the UK economy into a recession and lead to an increase in unemployment of around 500,000.
The Prime Minister is set to warn that an exit from the EU would lead to the pound depreciating, resulting in the cost of travel rising.

Last week chancellor George Osborne joined Ryanair boss Michael O'Leary and former politicians Ed Balls and Vince Cable at Stansted airport to take a stand against Brexit.
O'Leary said: “I am absolutely certain that the UK economy is better off in Europe, and that is why Ryanair is campaigning hard and actively calling on UK voters to vote 'Remain' on the 23 June.”
Vote Leave declined to comment.
