Now even Donald Tusk has told Theresa May to get going on Brexit negotiations
It isn't just fed-up UK politicians who want the UK to get going on Brexit negotiations: European Council president Donald Tusk has told Theresa May to start the process "as soon as possible", according to reports.
Tusk told May "the ball is now in your court" during a meeting at Downing Street this morning.
"Our goal is to establish [the] closest possible EU-UK relations," he later tweeted.
"Ball in UK court to start negotiations. In everybody's interest to start asap."
May has kept her cards close to her chest when it comes to when and how the UK will negotiate its exit from the European Union.
Yesterday she again vowed to keep quiet, this time on the topic of the UK's membership of the EU single market.
"We will not take decisions until we are ready," she told the House of Commons yesterday.
"We will not reveal our hand until we are ready, and we will not provide a running commentary on every twist and turn of the negotiation."
Meanwhile, it is unlikely Article 50 will be triggered this year: last month May said she will not hold a parliamentary vote on Brexit before she opens negotiations with the EU, saying again that "Brexit means Brexit".
