Tottenham confirm Harry Kane has ankle ligament damage but indicate striker could return for FA Cup semi-final with Chelsea
Tottenham have indicated that Harry Kane could return from injury in time for next month’s FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea.
Spurs confirmed on Tuesday night that medical tests had shown that their leading scorer suffered ligament damage in Sunday’s 6-0 quarter-final win over Millwall.
Kane faces an extended spell of recuperation but Tottenham emphasised that the injury appeared less serious than the ankle problem that kept him out for seven weeks earlier this season.

That points to Kane, who has 19 goals this season, being in with a chance of facing Chelsea at Wembley on 22 or 23 April.
“The injury is similar to the one suffered by the forward against Sunderland in September last year, however it is not considered to be as severe,” Spurs said.
“Harry will continue to be assessed by our medical staff while he undergoes his rehabilitation.”
Kane is set to miss England’s friendly against Germany and World Cup qualifier against Lithuania later this month, as well as a handful of Tottenham fixtures.
Spurs, who sit second in the Premier League, 10 points behind runaway leaders Chelsea, won just four of the 10 matches Kane missed during the autumn. He netted on his first game back, at rivals Arsenal.
He wrote on social media: “Always come back stronger from injuries and will be working hard with the medical staff to do that again.”
