Andy Murray v Rafael Nadal: Over £350,000 prize money at stake for winner of Madrid Open semi-final clash
Andy Murray can take his earnings for 2016 past the $2m mark (£1.4m) by reaching a second consecutive Madrid Open final.
But first the Scot must dispatch clay court master Rafael Nadal in today's semi-final.
Should he repeat the feat of last year's final by beating the Spaniard, Murray will then face either Japanese ace Kei Nishikori or world No1 Novak Djokovic in defence of his crown.
All four men have already banked just over $250,000 (£178,000) just by making it into the final four and will guarantee themselves just over $510,000 (£353,000) by making it into the final.

The overall winner in Madrid will receive a pay cheque worth just over $1m (£721,469).
Murray, who has made just shy of $1.5m so far in 2016, will take his annual earnings over the $2m mark with a semi-final win, becoming just the third player on the ATP World Tour to do so after Djokovic ($5m) and Nadal ($2.1m).
Although the world No2 is the third-highest earning player on the Tour so far this year, he is yet to win a title and has not reached a final since losing to Djokovic in the Australian Open final.
The closest he came was in last month's Monte-Carlo Masters, where Nadal got the better of him in the semi-final.
Following last year's Madrid Open, Murray had made $3m following his best ever start to a season.
