ArcelorMittal warns on slow steel growth

STEELMAKER ArcelorMittal has warned that growth in the industry will be slow and progressive, as the world’s economy and interest in the industry picks up.

Steel makers across the globe have begun to restart some of the capacity they idled during the global economic downturn, as order intakes improve — a move some industry participants see as premature.

Chief executive Lakshmi Mittal said he expected a “progressive recovery”.
