Arsenal FA Cup Parade: Pictures as Gunners celebrate in Islington
Arsenal celebrated their record 12th FA Cup victory with an open top bus parade through Islington today.
On Sunday Islington was awash with Arsenal fans hoping to catch a glimpse of the famous trophy and congratulate their heroes on the 4-0 demolition of Aston Villa which secured the Cup in style on Saturday evening.
Three viewing areas have been set up in the borough where players will gather to present the trophy to the crowd: Highbury Corner between 11am – 12noon, Islington Town Hall at roughly midday and Emirates Stadium (outside the Armoury Store) from 1pm onwards.
With two open top buses snaking down Upper Street and Highbury Grove, the local area was hit with road closures, parking restrictions and public transport disruption.
Fans are warned by Islington City Council that space will be limited, with the Emirates Stadium likely to be full "from early morning". Islington Council advises using all transport around the main parade areas and leave extra time for any journey in the area. See below for further travel information.

Road closures:
Roads on the entire route will be closed until 3pm at the earliest. That includes north end of Upper Street, Highbury Corner, St. Paul's Road, Highbury Park and Aubert Park.
Hornsey Road, Benwell Road, Bryantwood Road will also be shut down for fans and are unlikely to be opened up until 5pm.
Public transport disruption:
Highbury & Islington tube station is undergoing major works this weekend so access is limited. Fans are advised to use any alternative station.
The following bus routes will be disrupted by the parade: 4, 19, 30, 43, 236, 263, 271, 393.
Parking restrictions:
Usual Sunday parking restrictions are in place, with the heavy Arsenal matchday controlled parking zones not in place. Nevertheless, parking places are expected to be at a premium.
