Big Zeb is horse to beat in the Queen Mother
Today’s big race, the Queen Mother Champion Chase, is one of my favourite races of the year. These are the fastest jumps horses, jumping at full pace over two miles. If you make a mistake in the Queen Mum your chance is gone.
Big Zeb is the reigning champ and I think he’ll go in again. He doesn’t get the credit he deserves for a six-length victory last year and he’s the one to beat.
The Neptune Novice Hurdle looks at the mercy of Irish horses and I really think that Oscars Well is the real deal. Jessica Harrington’s horses are often underrated and that’s the case with this one. He travels like a dream and should improve again for better ground.
The day ends with the Bumper and, as usual, there is a buzz horse from Ireland. This time it’s Shark Hanlon’s Star Neuville, and this time I think the buzz is about right – plus he’s a big price too!
