GOOD TIMES WITH THE 3 TOWERS RALLY
If Staples to Naples is too much like roughing it and the Mille Miglia is a little out of your reach, then the 3 Towers Rally – which takes place between 9-17 July 2011 – may be right up your alley. Organised by automotive charity BEN, the rally takes in Europe’s three iconic towers: the Tower of London, the Eiffel Tower and the Tower of Pisa. The cost is £4,000 for two people sharing a car and the entry fee includes crossings, accommodation, breakfast and evening meals plus support vehicles.
TEST DRIVE MONOS
Track driving car club RS Academy has added two of the first production Mono sports cars to its fleet and members will be able to drive the cars at selected dates and venues from May. The lightweight, ultra high performance Mono has a top speed above 170 mph and can reach 0-60 mph in just 2.8 seconds. RS Academy organises track days around Europe and members have access to more than 100 race days each year.
CENTENNIAL CORVETTE
Chevrolet has introduced a 2012 Centennial Edition package, available on all its Corvette models. The cars get a carbon metallic finish with satin-black graphics and satin-black lightweight cast-spun aluminium wheels, plus red brake callipers, special badges on the B-pillars, the centre caps of the wheels, and the centre of the steering wheel. Inside the interior is ebony leather-wrapped with red stitching. Prices to be announced.
