Chelsea and Tottenham hit with record fine by the FA, beating record held by Arsenal for 13 years
Chelsea and Tottenham's ill-tempered clash at Stamford Bridge a fortnight ago has prompted the FA to issue a combined £600,000 fine — a record for a single Premier League match.
Both clubs have been warned about their future conduct following the game in which Chelsea overturned a two-goal deficit to end Spurs' title hopes.
Chelsea have been fined £375,000 and Tottenham £275,000 for failing to control their players on three separate occasions during the heated clash, including a melee outside the tunnel following the final whistle.
The previous record fine had been held by Arsenal who were forced to pay £175,000 following the infamous "pizzagate" draw with Manchester United at Old Trafford in 2003.

A record nine Tottenham players were booked during the game while midfielder Mousa Dembele received a retrospective six-game ban for making contact with Diego Costa's eye.
Spurs have now been fined £315,000 in the last 18 months while Chelsea have been charged a total of £465,000 this season alone.
An FA statement read: "It follows incidents which occurred in the 45th and 87th minutes and also at the end of their fixture at Stamford Bridge on Monday 2 May 2016. Prior to this fixture, Chelsea had breached FA Rule E20 on four separate occasions and Tottenham Hotspur twice since November 2014."
