Christmas came early: Here are all of the gifts foreign leaders gave Prime Minister David Cameron this year

Two rugs, alcohol, a glass art platter and bronze coins: these are just some of the presents Prime Minister David Cameron has received from foreign leaders this year.

Government papers published today reveal that Cameron received more than a dozen gifts from foreign leaders between April and September of this year.

Too bad he can't keep any of them.

All of the gifts recorded – including a silver ornament from General Rahel Sharif from the Pakistani army and a watch from Germany's chancellor Angela Merkel – are being held by the Cabinet Office as they are valued at more than £140.

The full list of gifts received:

  • A rug from the Prime Minister of Pakistan (April)
  • A silver ornament from General Rahel Sharif of the Pakistan Army (May)
  • Alcohol, boots and a jacket from the G7 Summit (May)
  • A glass art platter from First Lady Michelle Obama (June)
  • Bronze coins from David A Cohen (June)
  • A watch from German chancellor Angela Merkel (July)
  • Another rug from the Prime Minister of Pakistan (July)
  • A porcelain figure from the President of Indonesia (July)
  • A picture from the deputy Prime Minister of Vietnam (July)
  • Watches from Swatch and Flik Flak (September)
  • A framed oil painting from the Prime Minister of Mongolia (September)

The government also published "hospitality" received by Cameron over the same period, including drinks from Evening Standard owner Evgeny Lebedev just after the General Election, on 9 May.

Meanwhile, Cabinet office documents also reveal that Apple gave chancellor George Osborne an iPhone 6S in September. That's also being held by the Treasury, as it exceeds the £140 value limit.

Osborne's hospitality list is a bit longer than the Prime Minister's, with a breakfast with AXA in July and dinner with the BBC's Robert Peston in August.

Osborne also had dinner with NewsCorp's Rupert Murdoch and Robert Thomson in September – the chancellor's third face-to-face meeting with Murdoch this year.
