CITY MOVES WHO’S SWITCHING JOBS

DLA Piper
The law firm has elected Janet Legrand, an 18-year veteran of the firm, as senior partner.

Legrand succeeds Peter Wayte, who retires at the end of June.

She joined the firm in 1991 and specialises in commercial litigation. Her most recent high-profile cases include completing successful anti-corruption proceedings on behalf of the government of the Republic of Zambia against its former president.

Alvarez & Marsal 
The professional services firm has appointed Caio Gilberti and Sharon Mann as advisers in its European financial industry advisory services team.

Gilberti joins as a managing director, having previously been chief retail banking officer for GE Capital in Europe and head of venture capital and private equity investments for American Express. Mann becomes a senior associate and joins from Citigroup, where she specialised in portfolio acquisition, integration and restructuring.

Baker & McKenzie
The law firm has appointed Calvin Walker as a partner in its banking group. Walker joins from Allen & Overy, where he was a partner in the project finance, energy and infrastructure group. He was made partner at the firm in 1998 and was managing partner of its Moscow office from 1999 to 2001.

He specializes on major international project finance transactions and PFI and PPP work, with particular experience in the emerging markets.

Investment Technology Group
Robert Blyth Currie, Neil McCann and James Levy are to join the agency broker’s international sales trading team.

Currie becomes head of sales trading in Europe, after joining from his position as director of pan-European equity sales trading at Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein.

McCann joins as director of sales trading in Hong Kong, while Levy becomes a senior sales trader based in Australia.

Nautical Petroleum
The oil explorer and producer has appointed John Conlin as non-executive chairman of the company, effective immediately.

56-year-old Conlin has over 34 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, including a 28-year stint with Shell in various senior management and operational roles.

He has also previously served as a non-executive director of Hardman Resources and Delphian Technology, as well as chairman of Fuelture.

IQ Holdings
The business research firm has hired Gale Blears to its board of directors following the resignation of Janette Weir.

Blears, 56, is also a director of Viewpoint, which was acquired by IQ Holdings in January.
