The bank has appointed Chris Allen, currently head of real estates at HSBC Alternative Investments Limited (HAIL), as managing director and head of the HAIL division.

Prior to joining HSBC in 2007, Allen spent ten years at real estate services company Colliers International, latterly as an executive director in its investment division, before joining Ahli United Bank as head of real estate fund management.

Noble
The investment bank has appointed Scott Evans as head of research.

Evans previously worked at ABN Amro, where he was head of pan-European smaller companies and later head of equity sales for all European and international products. He also did a stint at Merrill Lynch, where he worked in both small cap research and pan-European small to mid cap sales.

He was also formerly an academic, working at the Institute for Fiscal Studies and as a tutor at Oriel College, Oxford.

Citi
Steve Donovan has joined the bank’s global transaction services division as head of global transaction services for the Middle East and Pakistan.

Prior to joining Citi in 2007, Donovan served in a number of senior business and client-facing roles at JP Morgan Chase, where he was most recently a corporate sales executive for EMEA, Asia Pacific and US outbound business, responsible for treasury, trade, card products and the public sector.

Barclays Wealth
The wealth management firm has hired Oliver Gregson from UBS as head of UK investment advisory within its investment and product office.

Gregson started his career at Insinger de Beaufort and Citigroup Private Bank, before joining UBS, where he was most recently a senior client adviser for key UK clients.

Mint Equities
The agency broker has hired Evolution’s director of trading, Simon McEvoy.

McEvoy, who was head of small cap trading at financial services group ING before his five year stint at Evolution, joins Mint’s eight-strong pan-European equities desk, headed by Diarmuid Clohessy.

Baird
The investment bank has appointed Said DeSaque as director of institutional sales and investment strategy.

DeSaque joins from William Blair International, where he worked on the US equity sales team. Prior to that, he was a senior vice president at stockbroker PaineWebber.

In his new role, he will be responsible for providing investment strategy reports on the US and global economies.
