CITY MOVES WHO’S SWITCHING JOBS

The accountancy giant has appointed Nick Secrett to its pensions capital management team, which was launched at the end of last year and is headed up by partner Chris Massey.
“Secrett has a wealth of capital markets expertise and will work with our clients to model and control their pension financing and investment risks,” said Massey.
Secrett joins from Swiss Re.
Macfarlanes
The law firm has hired Francis Bridgeman and Barry Donnelly as partners, effective from 10 September.
Bridgeman, a finance lawyer and restructuring specialist, joins from Allen and Overy, where he has been a partner since 2000, working on the restructuring of British Energy, Drax and Jarvis among others.
Donnelly is a specialist banking and financial services litigator, having advised the likes of Credit Suisse, UBS and JP Morgan. He joins from Jones Day.
Alliance Trust
The investment trust has appointed four fixed income managers from Scottish Widows Investment Partnership (SWIP), due to start at the firm in early 2010.
The team will be led by Rod Davidson, the former global head of fixed income at SWIP. He is joined by Gareth Quantrill, Stuart McMaster and Stuart Steven, previously head of bond product, head of aggregate bonds and investment director at SWIP respectively.
Shore Capital Group
The investment banking group has hired Andrew Raca as corporate finance director and Anita Ghanekar as assistant director of corporate finance.
Raca was previously head of corporate finance at Astaire Securities and has also worked at Libertas Capital, Arden Partners and Ernst and Young.
Ghanekar joins from HansonWesthouse, where she specialised in the resources sector. She also advised Chinese and Indian clients on a range of IPOs, M&A transactions and secondary offers.
BNP Paribas
Marc Falconer is to join the investment banking group as head of medium term notes (MTNs) and private placements.
Falconer, who will be based in London, previously spent 12 years at Citigroup, most recently as managing director and head of rate structuring Americas, a role based in New York.
He also spent five years in Tokyo, where he was responsible for MTNs, structuring and syndicate for Nikko Citigroup.
Jones Day
Frances Murphy, currently head of antitrust at Mayer Brown, has joined the law firm as its London-based head of antitrust.
Murphy specialises in the pharmaceutical, biotech, chemicals, telecoms, retail and construction sectors.
