Elon Musk to unveil new Tesla: Here’s everything you need to know about the Model 3
Tesla may be among the coolest marques around at the moment, but with a Model S priced at just shy of £50,000, for the majority of petrol (er, lithium?) heads, the brand has been pretty out of reach thus far.
But that's all about to change, with the launch of the Model 3, set to take place today (or, more accurately if you're in the UK, tomorrow).
The new Tesla promises to be the company's most affordable yet – making it its first foray into the mass market. Here's everything you need to know.
When does it actually launch, and how can I watch it?
Elon Musk, Tesla's founder, will unveil the new car at 8.30pm Pacific time – that's 4.30am our time. Watch it at Tesla.com.
How do I reserve a Model 3?
Reservations begin today – Australian Andreas Stephens became the first person to officially put his name down after he waited outside Tesla's Sydney store for 48 hours. To reserve one, you can take the Stephens route and queue outside your local store – or go to the website when the car is unveiled and put your name down there.
How much will it cost?
The Model 3 is Tesla's first attempt at building a mass audience – experts reckon its price tag will be around $35,000 (£24,500).
To reserve one, you'll have to shell out £1,000 up front – although Tesla has said that figure is fully refundable if you cancel your reservation.
What will it actually look like?
Musk has, rather confusingly, said the launch will take place in two parts.

We don't know much yet, but what we do know is that the Model 3 will be a four-door sedan, with a range of between 200 and 300 miles.
