EU referendum: Prime Minister David Cameron says he’ll spell out his demands in November
After months of speculation, Prime Minister David Cameron has finally set a date for spelling out his demands to the European Union – and it's only weeks away.
Cameron told reporters in Brussels today that the pace of renegotiation efforts between Britain and the EU would "quicken" and that he would set out "four vital areas where we need to change" at the start of November.
Cameron is in Brussels for a two-day summit of EU leaders.
The Prime Minister added that he wanted to speed up negotiations in the run-up to the next EU summit, in December.
"I'm confident we can get a good deal for Britain, fix those things that need to be fixed and I'm confident that this process is well under way and making good progress," he said.
Cameron has promised an in/out referendum on Britain's EU membership by the end of 2017, after he wraps up his renegotiation efforts.
