Exclusive: Half of all workers demand Covid testing before they return to the office
People working from home remain worried about returning to work in the office, according to new research shared exclusively with Morning Wire
Almost half (48 per cent) want to be tested before they return to the office, according to a survey of over 2,000 workers by Yonder on behalf of Cignpost Diagnostics.
Moreover, almost 60 per cent of those working from home think social distancing measures should be in place in offices and a similar number (58 per cent) believe that wearing a mask indoors or in confined spaces should be mandatory.
“With the number of Covid cases remaining high, there are clearly many people still very concerned about the threat of the virus,” commented Nick Markham, co-founder of Cignpost Diagnostics.
He told Morning Wire this afternoon that “after more than 18 months of many working from home, it is not surprising that people are incredibly cautious about returning to the office.”
“If employers want all of their workers back in the office, the onus is on on employers to demonstrate that they have taken every measure possible to create a safe environment. For some businesses, that will mean continuing to ensure social distancing while for others, it will mean a regular testing regime,” he concluded.
