Fire alarm closes High Street Kensington tube station
High Street Kensington underground station has been evacuated after an electrical room in the adjacent shopping centre was flooded and a fire alarm went off.
Shortly before 12.30pm, London Fire Brigade (LFB) responded to reports of a fire alarm which was sounded in shops close to the underground station. A crew of three fire trucks and 15 firefighters responded to the call, which LFB said was prompted by a flood in an electrical intake room.

The underground station was evacuated soon after and LFB said it is currently trying to switch off the power to avoid a fire breaking out in the area.

Transport for London (TfL) said that High Street Kensington tube station, which is on the district and circle lines, had been closed. LFB said it hoped to have the station back open shortly.
