Football betting: Slaven Bilic to mastermind end to West Ham’s Goodison blues at former club Everton

West Ham boss Slaven Bilic returns to Everton on Saturday hoping to end his team’s remarkable and unwanted run against their opponents.

Since Bobby Zamora’s winner in a 1-0 win in April 2007, the Hammers have gone 18 matches without a win over the Merseysiders .

However, with his side flying high in sixth place, Bilic will fancy his chances of ending that streak at a ground he used to call home.

Buoyed by their midweek win over title-chasing Tottenham, European qualification looks a real possibility in a season that looks set to give the Boleyn Ground a proper send-off.

Everton on the other hand, might feel their talented squad has underperformed after dropping out of the top half.

The attacking flair of Romelu Lukaku and Ross Barkley has lit up many a match, but they have been let down by a porous defence.

Roberto Martinez’s side have only kept two clean sheets at home all season – the fewest in the division.

Their attacking style could play perfectly into West Ham’s hands, who have been adept at picking sides apart on the counter attack.

An away win is 7/2 with Betway, which looks great value in the circumstances.

Goodison Park has so far seen the most goals of any ground, averaging 3.57 per game.

Add potential PFA Player of the Year candidate Dimitri Payet to Lukaku and Barkley and we could see plenty more fly in tomorrow.

I will certainly be buying total goals at 2.95 with Sporting Index.

Pointers

West Ham 7/2 (Betway)

Buy total goals 2.95 (Sporting Index)
