Gallas joins Spurs on a one-year deal
FORMER Arsenal captain William Gallas has completed his controversial switch to arch-rivals Tottenham.
The 33-year-old defender, who has signed a one-year deal at White Hart Lane after being released by the Gunners, is no stranger to transfers between clubs in the capital, having moved to the Emirates Stadium from Chelsea in 2006.
Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp, however, was quick to play down the significance of the centre-back’s decision to join Spurs despite him looking set to face a hostile reception from Gunners fans when the two sides meet on 21 November.
“It’s all cobblers,” said Redknapp. “What’s he done? It’s not the Yorkshire Ripper I’m signing, is it? He’s a footballer, he plays football.”
