Green Party leadership: Who are the runners and riders to replace Natalie Bennett
Green Party leader Natalie Bennett has announced she will stand down from the helm of the party in August after four years leading the party, paving the way for younger blood.
Bennett won't be standing for re-election when her second two-year term comes to an end this summer, though she does intend to stay "fully engaged".
Given the hype around the London mayoral election – in the capital, at least – you might think that Sian Berry is the clear cut favourite.
But, no. She has ruled herself out of running, but is also not entitled to run as she has not been a continuous member for the last three years, a rule in the Green Party, a source said.
"Even if the constitution would allow me to do it (in fact my short break in membership ended just under three years ago) I would still be looking to encourage someone else to take up and build on Natalie's legacy, which I'll now be doing," Berry said.

Jenny Jones, another thought to be a contender, has also ruled herself out. She sits in the House of Lords, but has been a member of the London Assembly.
Meanwhile, Caroline Lucas, the Green's only MP is therefore the frontrunner. The Brighton Pavilion MP is offered at 1/5 with Ladbrokes.
That's because Patrick Harvie is also ruled out, as he is Scottish and the election is for the England and Wales party only.
Other contenders include Amelia Womack and Shahrar Ali, the party's deputy leaders.
