Hodgson could come unstuck at the Toffees

Roy Hodgson’s men have taken six points from their opening seven games, but have only bagged a solitary point on their travels. Everton also have just six points from a possible 21, but they have picked up four points from their last two away games and will be hoping to register their first home win of the season on Sunday.
Liverpool have dominated recent contests against their local rivals, winning the last three at Goodison Park, and they haven’t tasted defeat since September 2006. However, they are pretty close to rock bottom at the moment, with confidence at an all-time low and a mounting injury list.
Although David Moyes’ side are yet to win at Goodison this season, they are generally very strong on home turf. They have won nine of their past 13 league games, with six victories coming by at least two goals, while Liverpool have now failed to score in five of their last six visits to sides currently in the bottom six.
Everton will be eager to hit the enemy while they’re down and as they finally look as if they’ve turned a corner, 6/4 is a very fair price for a home win.
We’ve already seen that the Toffees have regularly won games at home by two or more goals and although they haven’t looked brilliant up front, I like the look of the 10/1 888sport offer about a 2-0 home win. I would also advise spread bettors to sell goals at 2.3 with Sporting Index, as it could be quite a cagey, nervous encounter.

ASTON VILLA vs CHELSEA

Aston Villa have made a solid enough start to the campaign, taking seven points out of a possible nine at home, albeit not against the strongest opposition. They also beat Chelsea here 2-1 last season and have actually won two of the past three meetings between the sides at Villa Park. However, they were also stuffed 7-1 at Stamford Bridge in March.
There’s no doubt that if Chelsea play to their full potential they will win this game, but I wouldn’t want to be backing anyone odds-on at Villa Park. My initial reaction was to lay Chelsea at 4/5 on Betdaq, as it could easily be a draw, but I think the 4/1 with Paddy Power about a Villa win is too big to resist. The fact that both teams have been involved in a number of half-time draws also backs up the draw / Villa double result, and that can be backed at a huge 10/1 with 888sport.
It’s always dangerous tipping up a sell of goals in Chelsea games, but I can see this being tight and punters are advised to sell at 2.8 with Sporting Index.
