Manchester’s iconic House of Fraser store is set to close after rescue talks break down
Another House of Fraser store has been axed after rescue talks with the landlord broke down, the company confirmed today.
The Kendals department store in Manchester's Deansgate will close down in the New Year.

A spokesman for House of Fraser said: "We have suggested various options to the landlord that would have enabled us to save the store in Manchester.
"Sadly, these have been declined. We are now in consultation with staff about the fact that the store faces closure in the New Year."
An estimated 160 staff directly employed by House of Fraser will be affected, Manchester Evening News reported.
Last month Sports Direct owner Mike Ashley, who bought the beleaguered retailer for £90m in August, blamed "greedy" landlords for the potential closure of the Swindon, Hull and Edinburgh branches.
