Jeb Bush wants Margaret Thatcher on $10 notes
Presidential wannabe Jeb Bush has said he wants Margaret Thatcher to appear on $10 bank notes in the US.
The Republican, who is running against Donald Trump among others to win the party's nomination for next year's election race, told an audience at last night's televised candidate debate that he would pick Britain's former Prime Minister to front the redesigned 10 dollar bill.
"I would go with Ronald Reagan's partner, Margaret Thatcher. Probably illegal, but what the heck?" he said noting that it was unlikely to happen. "A strong leader is what we need in the White House, and she certainly was a strong leader that restored the United Kingdom into greatness."

The new $10 note is being redesigned and the US Treasury is deciding on who will appear on it when it goes into circulation in 2020. A woman will grace a US bank note for the first time in more than a century to celebrate the anniversary of women gaining the vote, and the government is asking the US public for suggestions.
Other candidates at the debate chose Mother Theresa and Rosa Parks, while Ben Carson suggested his own mother, Mike Huckabee his own wife and Donald Trump his own daughter.
Bush's choice has got one supporter this side of the pond – business secretary Sajid Javid.
