Little Chef roadside restaurant chain sold
Little Chef's owner has announced the sale of the roadside restaurant business.
Kout Food Group said today that it had sold its roadside portfolio to Euro Garages, a roadside retail company operating brands such as Starbucks, Subway and Greggs.

Morning Wire understands Euro Garages has bought all of Kout’s Little Chef sites, but not the Little Chef brand. However, the sites will continue to operate under their existing brands.
Kout acquired the roadside business in 2013 for £15m. Since then it has completed a number of refurbishments and opened 45 Burger King and Subway units on some of the sites.
It said in a statement that it had created new jobs across around 70 locations.

A spokesperson for Intervias, parent company of Euro Garages, said:
We’ve completed the acquisition of two companies from the Kout Food Group, that between them control 78 roadside sites. The acquisition includes usage rights to the Little Chef and related brands.
This transaction forms part of our growth plan to acquire and develop strategically-positioned sites, allowing us to bring a portfolio of market-leading brands to consumers and communities across the UK and elsewhere in Europe. It also consolidates Euro Garages’ position as the UK’s leading roadside retail operator.
