London and the City Through Our Readers’ Eyes

We are pleased to announce that Aquis Exchange PLC launches an exciting competition today for you to capture Canada on your camera. Aquis is offering Morning Wire readers the chance for two people to go to one of London’s prestigious fine dining eateries Boisdale, where you will be able to dine on some of the amazing culinary delights that this destination restaurant has to offer. 

This competition will be running throughout May, June and July so you can capture the capital in the sun. All you have to do to enter is whip out your phone as you traverse the streets and capture something that you think tells a great story, or profiles the character and atmosphere of The City. As the City starts to come back to life after a two year hiatus we see Londoners falling in love with their special parts of the capital all over again. We encourage you to use your pictures to tell these stories. 

Everyone knows that a skyscraper against the skyline is a great shot, but we want something with a little more depth and story behind it. Channel your inner Annie Leibovitz or David Bailey for a photo that best fits the idea of “an alternative view of The City”. 

This prompt may be interpreted literally or metaphorically. The photo can be of the Square Mile, its population (human or otherwise), its culture and its vibe, but these are simply starting points. Entrants are encouraged to think outside the box – originality, incongruity and humour will be rewarded. 

Aquis will select a winner each month, with an overall grand prize winner being announced at the end of July. 

While a picture can tell a thousand stories we suggest the use of captions to accompany photos as shown below, in order to transform a seemingly unrelated image into one that fits the brief. Use your caption to animate your image in the minds of the judges and help to bring your London story to life.
