Look the part on the Glorious 12th

The shooting season starts today – make sure you look the part with this William & Son kit

LAST year, the red grouse season got off to a somewhat faltering start. Its first day, 12 August – AKA the Glorious 12th – fell on a Sunday. Unfortunately, British law says the season cannot begin on a Sunday, meaning keen marksmen had to wait an extra 24 hours to take aim.

This year there is no such problem. Expectations for the season ahead, though, are mixed. The bitterly cold start to 2013 has some moor managers worried that grouse numbers could be affected, although similar concerns the previous year proved to be largely unfounded, and many areas reported record breaking seasons.

Either way, William & Son is on hand to give the discerning gentleman the edge. Its range of stylish, practical outdoorwear is second to none – even if you come home without many grouse, you’ll still be the best dressed gent on the estate.

If you’re a more serious shooter, William & Son also has some of the finest guns in the country.

And if shooting isn’t your thing, then enjoy the bounty of the season without getting your boots muddy at the restaurants listed below, all of which offer world class game.
