Lufthansa resumes Cairo flights but BA suspension to continue for six days
German airline Lufthansa has resumed flights to Cairo after temporarily suspending them, along with British Airways, over safety concerns.
British Airways cancelled all flights to the Egyptian capital from Heathrow on Saturday over security fears and has said the suspension will remain in place for a further six days.

Lufthansa cancelled flights from from Frankfurt and Munich to Cairo on Saturday but they resumed today.
On Saturday BA said in a statement: “We constantly review our security arrangements at all our airports around the world, and have suspended flights to Cairo for seven days as a precaution to allow for further assessment.
“The safety and security of our customers and crew is always our priority, and we would never operate an aircraft unless it was safe to do so. “

BA’s decision to cancel all flights to Cairo came after the Foreign Office updated its travel advice on Friday to say there was a “heightened risk of terrorism against aviation”.
It added: “Additional security measures are in place for flights departing from Egypt to the UK. You should co-operate fully with security officials at airports.”
