Now you’ll be able to fly non-stop from London to Australia (thanks Qantas)
Travellers heading down under will soon be able to do so without a single stop on the nearly 9,000 mile journey.
Qantas has revealed ambitious plans for the first ever direct flights between the two countries will become reality by March 2018, all thanks to the Dreamliner aircraft, in a move hailed as a "game-changer".
“When Qantas created the Kangaroo Route between London and Australia in 1947, it took four days and nine stops. Now it will take just 17 hours from Perth non-stop," said Qantas group chief executive Alan Joyce, who also hailed the route as a boost to tourism in both locations

“This is a game-changing route flown by a game-changing aircraft. Travellers from Europe have never had a direct link down under before, so the opportunities this opens for them to explore Australia are huge."
The Boeing Dreamliner will be able to carry more than 200 passengers on the 17 hour flight. Tickets wll go on sale for the first flight in April 2017.
