Premier League: Lukaku inspires Everton fightback

EVERTON boss Roberto Martinez refused to be drawn on his side’s credentials to qualify for the Champions League despite £30m striker Romelu Lukaku sending the Toffees fifth after inspiring a stunning fightback at West Brom last night.
Lukaku returned to haunt former club West Brom with a second-half double, either side of an Aruna Kone strike, after Saido Berahino and Craig Dawson had given the Baggies a two-goal lead. Not since 1985 and a 4-3 win at Ipswich have Everton won after trailing by two goals, while it is the first time a Tony Pulis side has lost in the Premier League having held a two-goal advantage.
“The first two-thirds of the competition is to find out as much as we can about ourselves,” said Martinez. “All we want to do is make sure we get into a good rhythm. We want to collate as many points as we can, create as much competition in the squad as we can. I feel we’re on the right path to do that.”
