Hotel and pub group Fuller, Smith & Turner has poached Domino’s Pizza’s chief financial officer who will join the company towards the end of the year.

Joining the pub group as finance director, Neil Smith will also be placed onto the group’s board.

Shares in Domino’s sank following the announcement, falling by 1.85 per cent to 383p per share.

With over a decade of experience as a FTSE 250 CFO, Smith has spent nine years as CFO of Ei Group, formerly Enterprise Inns, and was once a chartered accountant with PWC.

Chairman, Michael Turner, said that Smith, “has a very good financial track record. Neil shares our values will fit well with our culture, and will help our leadership team grow the business as our country emerges from the pandemic.”

With well-known companies like Compass, Virgin Media, Telewest Global and Somerfield under his belt, the incoming director has a wealth of experience across finance and retail to bring to the pub group.

“It is a business I have long respected and admired. I am passionate about pubs and welcome the opportunity to bring my experience to bear with this great company and play my part in the continued development of this iconic business and its future success,” Smith said.
