Sadiq Khan says London is a step closer to getting its own NFL franchise after four games announced for 2017
London will host four regular season NFL games for the first time next year, a move Mayor Sadiq Khan said will bring the capital closer to getting its own franchise.
Four games represents half a regular season home schedule for an NFL franchise and will further put to the test London's capacity to host a franchise.

"London is the international home of the NFL and staging the equivalent of what would be half an American football team's home games in the city is a huge step towards my ambition of bringing a franchise to the capital," said Khan.
"London staging a fourth games is fantastic news – not only for the millions of sports fans who get to enjoy our iconic stadiums – but also because it confirms our status as the go-to choice for hosting the world's biggest sporting events."
The fixtures and locations of the games are yet to be agreed upon, yet it has been confirmed that the Miami Dolphins will return as the designated home team against the New Orleans Saints while the Jacksonville Jaguars have also committed to hosting a game.
Twickenham hosted the LA Rams and New York Jets earlier this year, the first time an NFL game has been hosted in a London stadium other than Wembley.
"We continue to be incredibly excited by the passion and love for the NFL shown by our millions of UK fans," said NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.
